A Farley Tradition Since 1993

Al Heiberger purchased Cobra Lanes in 1993 and built it into a beloved community gathering place for over 25 years. Under his ownership, the lanes became synonymous with good times in Farley, Iowa.

"I always wanted to be a business owner. When I came back to work for Al full-time in 2010, that's when I knew I wanted to own a bowling center." - Russ Kramer

In June 2019, Russ Kramer, who had bowled since age six and worked at the lanes since 2002, fulfilled his dream and purchased the business. With Al's mentorship and his own passion for the sport, Russ continues the tradition of friendly service and great bowling.

Passing the Torch

Al Heiberger saw a lot of himself in Russ, noting that Kramer was the same age Al was when he first bought the bowling center. While Al stepped back to spend more time with his grandchildren, he continues to run the pro shop and remains a part of the Cobra Lanes family.

Russ's goals for Cobra Lanes include expanding weeknight open bowling, maintaining the business's established success, and continuing to serve as the home of the Western Dubuque Bobcat Bowling team. His passion for the sport and the community ensures the lanes remain a cornerstone of life in Farley.

Home of the Bobcats

Cobra Lanes is the proud home of the Western Dubuque Bobcat Bowling team. Supporting local youth sports has always been a core part of what makes the lanes special. Student athletes train, compete, and grow here throughout the season, and the community rallies behind them every step of the way.
